- Posted on: 19/09/2019 - $itemValue.title

The leaves in the park are starting to fall, the fires are lighting and the atmosphere here in the Castlerosse Park Resort is distinctly cosy... this can only mean one thing - that Autumn has finally arrived and the most spooktastic of holidays is nearly upon us!

The Mid-Term Break for Halloween is one of our favourite family holidays here in the Resort and there is an abundance of seasonal activities, not just around the Park but also in nearly Killarney Town and further afield, to entertain everyone, young and old.

Here is a little taster of what you and your flock can enjoy this frightful season...

Halloween Howl
When: 25th October - 2nd November
Where: Kenmare Town - various locations
More info: https://www.facebook.com/kenmarehalloweenhowl/
Few things can really capture the imagination or spirt of the season of Samhain like a week-long of hair-raising celebrations at the Halloween Howl Festival in nearby Kenmare Town, just a 40 minute drive away.
Beginning on Friday the 25th of October, this festival includes a whole host of fun and fright-filled activities for the entire family to enjoy including Wizarding Workshops, Spell Studies, Spooky Night-Time Orienteering, Ghoulish Gatherings, Haunted House Tours and so much more.
For truly magical memories your family won’t want to miss this.

Escape Killarney
When: Daily Escapes
Where: Escape Killarney, Bohereencael Glebe, Killarney
More info: https://www.escapekillarney.ie/
Killarney’s first Escape Room, situated in the town centre of Killarney, is a fantastic family adventure, perfect for a rainy day. This activity is especially great for families with older kids as the Escape Room is suitable for anyone 13+ but anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Enjoy some serious family bonding as you work together to solve riddles, unlock puzzles and crack codes in order to escape the room within 60 minutes.
We recommend the Black Valley Escape Room, a concept based on the nearby glaciated Killarney valley of its namesake. Up until 1977, the Black Valley was in fact the very last place in Ireland to get electricity and apparently some of this room’s inhabitants are still disconnected….. spooky indeed, are your family up to the challenge?
