The Waterfall which lies at the base of Torch Mountain stands 20 metres high and 110 metres long and provides a stepping stone walk way offering a variety of viewing points to add to the overall experience. Make sure to plan your trip after heavy rainfall for the most dramatic waterfall display. If you want to pull out all the stops for a romantic day out in Kerry, then we highly recommend Slea Head which begins and ends in Dingle. Choose to drive or cycle the circular route and take in some of the very best scenic views that Ireland has to offer. Take a dip in blue flag Ventry Beach, stop for pint and some oysters in the small fishing village of Ballydavid and make lifelong memories looking out over the Atlantic Ocean with the wind flowing through your hair and the crashing waves beneath your feet.

No. 3 A Rock With A View At Ladies View

Ladies View is one of the most famous scenic viewpoints in the kingdom of Kerry and was once voted by the Irish Times as being the most photographed place in the whole of Ireland.

The name ‘Ladies View’ has historical significance as it was so called by Queen Victoria’s ladies in waiting on her royal visit to Killarney in 1861…..well you know what they say, if it’s good enough for royalty, it’s good enough for us!

All that aside, this really is the perfect location to pop that all important question, reignite an old spark or toast to the future whilst overlooking the most magnificent views.

Finish off the experience by sharing a drink in Kerry’s highest bar in Ladies View Industries or continue the romance with a spin up to Molls Gap and a visit to Avoca, one of Ireland’s oldest Weavers, for an authentic Irish keepsake to remember the day.

Towering 714 feet above sea level, the island of Skellig Michael, off the coast of Portmagee in Co. Kerry, is sure to capture your heart. Recently famed for its appearance in the Star Wars saga, the twin pinnacled crag is truly out of this world. Once home to 8th century monks, its Christian monastic settlements, in the shape of beehive huts, remain in unusually good condition and the island is also renowned for its unique eco-system attracting gannet, puffins, razorbills and even grey seals, making it a must see for nature lovers as well as history buffs. Pack your hiking boots and have your camera at the ready as this is one memory you will not want to forget.

If you are looking for something a little bit different to impress your loved one then a romantic row out to the mystical Island of Inisfallen may be right up your stream, so to speak.
Rent your very own row boat directly from nearby Ross Castle and glide through the glistening Killarney Lakes on your way to the deserted Island. Once there, explore the ancient ruins of the old priory and romanesque church dating back to 11th and 12th century and take a stroll around the quiet leafy grounds where you may meet some of the Red Deer inhabitants who have made the Island their home. Pack a picnic for a guaranteed dreamy day out!
